Rosie's Story

FROM CORPORATE TO CANVAS

Rosie Haggas is a Norfolk-born landscape artist based in London, working predominantly in oil paint. Her work is inspired by a strong connection to the British landscape, with a particular emphasis on seascapes and the changing light and atmosphere across the seasons. Whenever possible, she loves to paint en plein air (from life) to capture the evolving landscapes.

Her paintings have been selected for the Art for Youth exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London, in both 2024 and 2025, and she has presented two solo exhibitions at her studio in Norfolk. In 2025, Rosie was featured as a wildcard artist on Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year, travelling to Snowdonia to take part in the heats—an experience that deepened her commitment to painting from life.

Rosie began her formal training with an Art Foundation at Oxford Brookes University, before going on to complete a combined honours degree in Business and Spanish at Newcastle University. After returning to painting in 2020, she chose to develop her practice alongside her career in the property sector, gradually transitioning to a part-time artistic career. She enrolled at London Fine Art Studios in Battersea, where she trained in classical techniques and expanded her practice beyond landscape to include still life painting.

More recently, Rosie took a six-month sabbatical to further immerse herself in her practice. During this time, she studied in Italy, including completing an intensive course at the Florence Academy of Art. This experience broadened her technical knowledge and allowed her to explore portraiture and figure painting, while continuing to strengthen her still life and landscape work. She has since continued her studies at London Fine Art Studios, focusing on landscapes, still life, portraiture and figure.

Rosie is available for commissioned work and values the collaborative process it involves. She works closely with clients to bring their ideas to life, creating pieces either from photographs or through direct observation.
